Last night's Pub Quiz was a Spitzer-stravaganza with half the team names referencing the gubernatorial goof. There was The $4300 Dollar Hooker Trip, Client #9, Spitzer's Call Girls and my personal favorite, Spitzer Swallows, That is the Question. Kudos to all the teams who were able to take one man's shameful deeds and turn them into a cheeky joke for a bar full of people to hear.
Question-wise, the first round was a bit of a breeze, save the Skoda question. I mean, I'm normally right there with you when we're talking about obscure European car manufacturers, but when it comes to Czech companies, you lose me. But yeah, most teams did well through the first round and even the second round with it's questions about Mortician Addams (the original) and etymology (the origins.) Zing!
The last round went the way it always does, in the favor of others. This week, however, there was a tie between the second place teams and ended with the ever present Petite Feet, Feminine Step finishing in their welcome second. You guys are like the Christopher Marlowe's of our Pub Quiz, but don't worry, we see the genius in Dr. Faustus even if Romeo and Juliet gets more play. Ok, so congratulations are in order. In first place, and to quote Irish John, "fucking the rest of you in the ass with sand in the vaseline" was Paul Brown's Boutique consisting of Kyle and Maria. Second place, as was mentioned earlier, was Petite Feet, Feminine Step made up by Jonnie, Angela, Terry and Jamie.
Congrats teams! See you at the next Quiz and to the perennial second placers, chin up guys, stiff upper lip. There is always next week!
