So I chose not to attend Quizzo last night to watch the premier episode of LOST, The TV Show. I realize all my friends and fans are going to be a little put out that the Quzzo blog won't be about our fun times with the local Quizbudsman, but by darn it I'm going to write it anyway!

There was a team this week called Where is Jack? which I can only assume is an allusion to Jack from LOST which starts next week and will probably be the reason I won't be at Quizzo and will probably also be the bestest television experience EVAR!!!11!

A toast to the future and a nod to a tumultuous recent past is DEFINITELY in order. All day happy hour, our president elect on the projection screen and a hopefully dejected looking Bush kicking a can down Pennsylvania Ave.

Saturday: We'll be having a strange but hilariously titled Mustaches for Kids party. Special mustache drinks for all donations of $5 at the door, but there is no cover. Mustaches are encouraged, but not required.
At 10pm DJ Jack Tripper and the Get Down will wax on wax spinning pure analog for the audio enthusiasts.

Sunday: Brunch! starts at 11am and the Birds v. G-men starts at 1 on the projector screen. It's going to be a Sunday to remember.

Saturday, December 20th - Come out to help keep 11 of Philadelphia's library branches open. There will be fund raising, dancing, DJ's and drinking all to help preserve what Benjamin Franklin started all those years ago. All proceeds from this party go to Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia. Come out and help a great cause.

I spent an hour before the quiz working on a team name referencing the shoe thrower. We came up with a few gems that were each off by hair. If Throwing Your Shoes at a Foreign Leader is an Insult, Then Call Me Don Rickles," (too long) Facebook Fans of Muntadar al-Zaidi, (not that funny without the link, but will be once the internet is hardwired into our brains) If Only it had Been Richard Reid (nobody remembers who the fuck this guy was) until we finally settled on My Farewell Kiss to Bush Involved Less Tongue

The Blargojovovich scandal in Illinois just keeps getting better and better. Nefarious political dealings, a foul-mouthed first lady, ... This has the making of a pretty awesome made for TV movie. I'm thinking Ray Liotta as Rod Blahgogovich, Jane Kaczmarek as Patti Blagarjavich and Larenz Tate as Jesse Jackson Jr.

It's really hard to come up with a funny excerpt to start this blog. I don't have Leno's chin or Letterman's gap tooth grin to back me up. No easy Simpsons jokes to fall back on or quick report between Calvin and Hobbes to get the masses grinning. So hey, an NFL player did something ironic and it made national news...
